Whats it's all about ...

Exactly. This blog is my take on what "it" - life and the general pursuit of non-happiness all of us humans are engaged in - is really all about. Observations - musings - snippets of the world - glimpses at the lil people behind the curtains ... that sort of thing. My view comes from being maybe half way on my journey - if I live to 90 - otherwise - it's all downhill from here anyway ...

Basic Philosophies -

1) If you are reading this - you are breathing - breathing denotes you are a step above being a rock. Life is sacred - a candle flame waiting for the slightest breeze to snuff it out. People don't truly get that or appreciate it fully ... "be careful out there ..." or - you are one redlight ignoring semi-truck away from not.

2) Since you are alive - death is the great equalizer. The minute you are born - you are dying - all of us - the matter of that is two fold - 1) How long a span that is from beginning to end is up to you and fate - and some genetics, but that's fate too .. and 2) it's all about what you do in that span, no matter how long or short.

3) One body = One box - no matter how much you can live - love - laugh - cry - succeed or fail with all of those around you - in the end - it's YOUR life that flashes before your eyes. It's your responsibility to make sure it's a 3 hour epic and not a short film candidate.

4) Enjoy the time you were born into - I look around and say - wow - I'm in a pretty amazing place in time and space. Fate landed me here - sure I would rather seen the power of the Empires of the Egyptians or Greeks or lived in the time of Da Vinci - then again I could have been born in a different time-space and been a "deaf - blind - mute" and not known of any of it. SO - I say enjoy it, unless you believe in re-incarnation and do overs - then enjoy it anyway - you might be a marsh fly the next time. And for that matter - again fate - all times through out history had pluses and minuses - hedonistic orgies and horrible wars ... absolute brilliance of intellect and utter ignorance and inhumanity - it's what you put in your vessel that you carry to the end.

5) Religion - I have to say it - you can't look at life as I will without touching on it - I'm a questioning quasi-agnostic with enough personal experiences not to be a full borne atheist. That said - I'm comfortable being on a rock circling a sun that's one of trillions in a galaxy of trillions that somehow came out of nothing and nowhere by nobody in particular. To me it makes us all that much more remarkable and amazing and should cherish that we are not rocks (See Point 1) and should treat the other riders on this rock with due respect and reverence - be they plant, animal mineral, or vegetable.

More - Religion - since I don't prescribe to it - much less to any one particular one - I delight and distrust all equally. I can see the societal needs but can't prescribe to the insanity it breeds - I hear allot of religious people speaking to brotherhood - sisterhood - divinity - all one people - and living their lives in absolute hypocrisy. I'm responsible for my own personal ripples upon the lake of humanity - and seek not repentance or absolution - I cannot stand that religious people feel they can. "Do onto others / don't do the crime if you can't do the cosmic time ..."

6) The End - The End is much in vogue these days ... I'm bit of a pragmatic and have studied much of the end time literature and have come to this conclusion - I'm seriously not afraid of The End. It is what it is and will be when it will be ... WHAT DOES scare the hell out of me is the lemming like idiots who believe in a particular end time - be it biblical - Aztec - Nostradamus or flying saucers. Lets not rush it people - we are plenty good at creating our own demise - let fate decide on it's own which one is the winning scenario.

7) Fate - is a cold mistress ... figure that one out in it's entirety on your own.
